This programme aims to give practising and potential Assessors a foundation for their formal development. This is achieved through the development of a range of assessment skills and knowledge. You will attend 3 days of taught delivery then have one to one sessions with your course leader for the remainder of the programme.

What will I learn?

·   Unit 301 – Understanding the principles and practices of assessment

·   Unit 302 – Assess occupational competence in the work environment

·   Unit 303 – Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

How will I be taught?

You will be taught by experienced and supportive tutors.

How will I be assessed?

You will provide a portfolio of evidence to meet the standards which will consist of work-based evidence and observations. You will need two Apprentice learners that are completing an NVQ/QCF type of Qualification and a technical certificate or providing Assignments marked against specific criteria.

What can I do next?

On completion of this award you can progress to on to a Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices (V1).

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements however you must have two candidates who are or about to undertake a vocational qualification (QCF), as you will be assessing them. They therefore have to be working in the area that you are occupationally competent in.
